Finding wedding suppliers can be all too easy – in fact I suspect these days it’s a little overwhelming for brides and grooms who search online and discover dozens, if not hundreds of suppliers for everything. Where to start?! Every blog has a recommended suppliers list; every magazine has adverts; every online directory has pages of links… it can all be a little confusing. Wouldn’t it be easier to source your wedding suppliers all in one day then?

How to get what you need from the big wedding shows
For a few years the internet kind of took over from wedding shows. But for key suppliers like photographers I think it’s really important to meet and get to know them before booking. As important, in fact, as getting more than one quote – you need to ‘click’ with your photographer as they’ll be there for most of your day. Personality is key. And that’s why wedding shows are still important.

It’s also great to be able to see, touch, and even taste things at wedding shows – and if you’re looking for a florist, for accessories or cakes, then a wedding show is the easiest, quickest and best opportunity to get a good feel. So to speak!

Wedding shows can be overwhelming so do your research before you go. Brides The Show has a list of exhibitors on their website, so pick out your favourites and make sure you don’t miss them on the day. Know your strategy for the day: are you there to find your wedding dress, to book a photographer, or to get 3 florist quotes or make a decision about your wedding stationery? Write a ‘shopping list’ down – it’s easy to forget once you’re there!
